Product Description
Ultra Performance 80X Secure Digital cards are the best choice for your digital camera and other handheld device. Transcend insists on using only original SLC (Single-Level-Cell) NAND Flash chips that have a higher write speed, lower power consumption, and superior performance compared with Secure Digital cards made with MLC (Multi-Level-Cell) chips.Similar Products

I've used this card in a Nikon D50 and D80 with zero issues for 1.5 years. At the time it was a great deal. Transcend has a lifetime warranty, although I've never had to deal with a defect so I'm not sure how their support is.

I needed and ordered a 128MB SD flash card for a specific device I was using. I was interested in trying the Transcend Ultraspeed 80x card due to the high speed claims at a decent price. Well, the company I ordered the part through indicated that Transcend no longer made the 128MB version and sent me a 256MB version. I was able to use the the 256MB version in another device. I noticed the higher transfer speeds on the first use. I did not do any real speed test measurements I just used the card and noticed the writing to the card was faster than some non-high speed cards purchased for a similar price. I think this might be good for some cameras or other devices that can take advantage of the high speed nature of the Transcend SD flash cards. The 4 star rating is because this actual part is not available anymore, but I think most people could use the 256MB size or even much larger nowadays.

We have taken over a thousand pics on this card and we have had exactly ZERO glitches with it! No errors. No transfer issues. Nothing. Why doesn't all electronic equipment work this well?

I used HDtune 2.52 to measure the performance of a few SD cards.
The Transend 1GB 80x was the fastest with 9.0MB/s transfer.
I wish more companies would publish reasonable performance numbers.
Just for comparison, the Sandisk Ultra II 1GB (which cost me more!) delivered 6.4 MB/sec.

I've found the product to be quite good. I use an int'l card and many other sites denied my order as a result. Transcend however accepts Int'l credit cards. The card itself works well, i will however advise to go for a higher speed, perhaps 150x, but performance is ok, and 1GB is enough room! I have a Canon Powershot A400 and the camera runs well with the new card.
