Bought a 2GB Transcend CF card from [...] when I bought my Canon 40D SLR. After one round of use, non of my PC at home can recognize this CF card anymore. I lost all the pictures I took from that memory. I called Transcend company and they send me a replacement. This time is a different story. The upload time to my PC is so SLOW (SCANDISK took only 1/4 of the time to upload all my pictures).
Worst is some of the pictures uploaded to my PC were damage!!!
I WILL NOT touch this memory card for the rest of my life.
Go with SANDISK, at least the pictures you took are save...

I have used Transcend cards for over five years now! I will continue to use them. They are not quite as fast as some of the other brands, but they're FAR from slow. In my five years of using Transcend cards I've only had one die on me...and I put that one through the washing machine first...and I was STILL able to get the images off of it before it died! :-)

Have had this for a year. Put a few thousand images on it and it has never failed. Write time seems plenty fast enough for my use. Transfer time is noticeably faster than either of my sandisk II cards. I own six CF cards for my Canon XT of different brands and I have no complaints about any of them. Even bought some of them used. They have all performed as expected.

I've been using this card with my Canon 30D for over a year with no problems yet. Honestly, the negative reviews make me a little nervous, but this card is very fast and has proven reliable. This card as been through hot and humid as well as bitterly cold climates and even been dropped a good number of times (not recommended) and still hasn't lost a frame.
In a non-scientific survey of speed using the Canon 30d, Transcend 2gb 120x, and Sandisk Ultra II 2gb, my Transcend card noticeably outperformed the Sandisk card (setting the camera to 5fps and letting the buffer fill).
There's also a very handy chart if you search for "Canon EOS 30d write speed" on the robgalbraith site which puts this card slightly slower than the ultra II, but the difference is minimal.
My main motivation was price. If the price is right, go for it.

I bought this because my friend owned it and it worked good for her. Mine came and sometimes maybe 2 out of the 200 pictures I shot that day turn out corrupted. It just states "Corrupted File" with a little thumbnail of the picture. That can be a big deal if it's an important picture. I had a SanDisk and had absolutely no problems with that except that when it was getting full it took longer to load. Nevermind that, just pay a little more for a more reputable brand.
